hosting an easter brunch
As of March 20th, 2022 Spring has officially sprung! Color palettes are transitioning from dark & heavy to light & airy. You will be able to hear the birds chirping more often as new life is beginning. Spring is here! With spring, Easter shortly follows.
Time to gather family together as we reflect on what new life really means.
What forgiveness really looks like.
What love did.
Whether you are a seasoned Easter Brunch planner or this is your first one, I want to share a few ideas that will hopefully detract from the busyness of hosting and allow you to intentionally spend quality time with those around you.

DESIGN YOUR TABLESCAPE
One of the great things about an Easter Brunch is that when it comes to decorating, all you have to think about is your tablescape. Although you can if you desire to, you do not have to go out and buy anything for this. Instead, you can use things you already have on hand. This is one of my favorite occassions to use my grandmother’s vintage china set & napkins. Don’t have a china set? The good news is that you can find some beautiful collections at local thrift stores. Don’t have vintage napkins? Those can be found at your local thrift store as well or opt for paper napkins in a fun pattern! Use whatever glasses & silverware you have on hand. For flowers & centerpieces, you can incorporate what potted succulents you have, go outside and cut tree branches or wildflowers. Get creative! I have even seen carrots used for Easter Brunch centerpieces. This season is about celebrating new beginnings and new life, so bringing the outdoors in is a beautiful option. One of my all time favorite decor ideas for Easter Brunch is adding decorative eggs & nests along the center of the table. Tucked into little spaces or resting up against a bud vase. In the picture above you can see eggs were used as placecards.

CREATE YOUR MENU
Quiches, ham, charcuteries boards, salads, deviled eggs, fresh berries & fruit and candied carrots are fun, classic options to your brunch menu. If your family has a tradition of Easter Brunches, incorporate the timeless recipes that have stood through time. This is one meal that I do suggest if you are going to have it catered, order through your caterer 1-2 days ahead of time and heat as required. I am big on honoring other families to spend these holidays with their loved ones as well.

mocktails or cocktails?
Since it is brunch, you want to keep the drinks light & refreshing. Here is a quick recipe to keep it easy as well.
When it comes to mocktails, a tried and true recipe for me that I go back to is 2/3 ginger beer, 1/3 lemonade and a splash of lime juice. You can garnish with edible flowers, orange peel or any fresh fruit of your choice. Ginger beer & lemonades come in many different flavors, not to mention infused simple syrups you can find and create yourself. At home, I typically add tajin or another delicious flavored salt to the rim. If you keep in mind 2/3 ginger beer + 1/3 lemonade then get creative with the flavors of those, the possibilities are endless! And oh so easy.
Now… how to make it a cocktail?
Just add some champagne or your favorite white wine.

Sell it.
Carrot cake, for obvious reasons, is the traditional dessert for Easter Brunches. A fun and modern twist on Easter Brunch dessert is macaroons or key lime pie. Just think something fun & in the lighter color scheme.
Most importantly… DON’T FORGET THE COFFEE!
